Description:
The Wakefield Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered Italian teacher at Wakefield Memorial High School effective September 1, 2024. Interested individuals should demonstrate the ability to design and facilitate engaging lessons incorporating communicative activities and comprehensible input as effective instructional strategies to support language proficiency.
Qualifications:
- Massachusetts certification in Italian
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa in the United States required
Duties and responsibilities
- Align units to the Massachusetts World Language Standards and ACTFL Core Practices
- Develop cultural competence through student discourse and collaboration.
- Create a differentiated environment that supports the learning styles and emotional needs of all students.
- Assess and evaluate students’ educational progress and abilities using formative and summative measures.
- Communicate with parents, administration, and students regarding academic content, expectations, and student progress.
- Collaborate with a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to develop common assessments, analyze student work, and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Attend to all teacher duties and professional development.
- Uphold, support, and promote the Core Values of Wakefield Public Schools in all areas of teaching and learning as a member of the World Language department.
- Other duties may be assigned.
