Position: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), part-time 

Location: Districtwide

 

Overview: 

Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a talented BCBA to join our team. This position is a .5 FTE, which equates to 20 hours per week. Since this position may be across multiple locations within the district, the ability to transport yourself between schools within the day is important. 

 

Qualification: 

  • Hold a valid certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Experience supporting children with social-emotional and/or behavior challenges
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders

Responsibilities: 

  • Work collaboratively with school staff and IEP teams to provide support and coaching
  • Consult with parents as needed for behavioral issues across home and/or school settings
  • Provide training of paraprofessionals and faculty on behavior plans/ recommendations, de-escalation skills, and understanding behaviors. Training may also include the use of basic ABA principles (i.e.; discrete trials, positive reinforcement, data collection, etc.). 
  • Complete assessments (FBA, VB-MAPP, ABLLS Assessments, SISS, Preference Assessments, etc.)
  • Assist in the development of behavioral objectives, data collection procedures, and monitor data collection
  • Provide crisis management techniques when a student's behavior becomes unsafe to themselves or others
  • Provide monthly and ongoing supervision to the district’s RBTs
  • Collect Baseline Data on problem behaviors, graph behavior data, review behavior data with student's classroom teachers and adjust Behavioral Support Plan, as necessary
  • Attend various Team meetings, as needed
  • Provide consultation for families and coordinate/supervise home services, when needed
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to inform Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs); write BIPs (including material development), and train staff on their implementation 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team, communicate effectively, and demonstrate integrity of confidential information  
  • Familiarity with QBS, Safety Care (initial or re-training is provided through the district)
  • Perform other related duties, as required

 

Salary:  Commensurate with experience and education 

Work Year: 195 days (to include the 180 school days, in addition to staff professional development and additional remaining non-school work days).
