Definition: Bus Monitor (The role of METCO Bus Monitor is to collaborate with the bus driver and METCO Staff to assume the responsibility for the safety and behavior of students to and from Boston to Wakefield Public Schools.  

• Take attendance each morning and afternoon of all students on the bus. 
• Welcome students and assist them on and off the bus/van. 
• Ensure all students exit the bus and locate identified parent/caretaker at bus stops. 
• Remind students to remain seated, respect other riders, use appropriate language and maintain safe bodies. 
• Communicate changes in bus arrival times to parents via text messages. 
• Community ate with students, parents and school staff in a professional and courteous manner at all times. 
• Possess a positive attitude and willingness to work as well as a member of the team.
• Write incidents reports and submit to METCO Director
• Follow assigned seating plans for students, Bus Monitor and METCO Director.
• Report all concerns, including student’s behaviors directly to METCO Director using established protocol. 
• Attend/Participate in METCO staff meetings. 
• Maintain regular communication with METCO Director.
• Perform all and/all other duties assigned by the METCO Director and or Principal
