POSITION:           Food Service Assistant Manager

                             FT – Monday-Friday

                             8 hours per day with ½ hour unpaid

 

LOCATION:           Wakefield High School

 

SALARY:               SL4 - $20.88 - $24.07 depending on experience

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School graduate.  Consideration may be given to experience in preparing and cooking food on a large scale.  General knowledge of methods and procedures involved in the preparation of and cooking of meals for the school breakfast and lunch programs.  Ability to follow oral and written instruction.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work under the direct supervision of the High School Manager.  Routine to complex work in maintaining all records in support of the School nutrition program at the High School.  Assumes the responsibility for the cafeteria operation at the High School when the manager is absent. Instruct and supervise cafeteria employees.  Check food supplies and requisition for food and supplies as needed.  Verify deliveries and provide proper and sanitary storage.  Maintain standardized recipes, production records meal counts and inventory.  Perform routine but responsible cooking duties requiring some care and judgement in preparing meals.  Frequent physical effort demanded in lifting heavy containers, walking and standing while performing duties under conditions of some discomfort due to heat and cold.  Perform cleaning duties.  Frequent contact with immediate associates and school children.  Lifting heavy containers (Max 50 lbs) and trays.  Other duties as required by the Food Service Director and Food Service Coordinator.

 

Examples of Work:  Slicing of meats, peeling and cleaning of vegetables and assist in other food preparation skills.  Serving of food, cashiering and counting of money.  General cleaning of kitchen and food preparation surfaces.
