POSITION: HS Special Education LTS (late April through EOY)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (minimum)
- Possess strong interpersonal skills (communication, problem-solving, collegiality, collaboration)
- Strong organizational skills and willingness to be flexible to meet the needs of students.
- Experience working with HS students with Special Education needs or Special Education Teacher Certification is a plus.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide inclusion support in content area classes, as well as small group direct support focused on skill development and working toward meeting IEP goals;
- Co-plan lessons and units with appropriate skills, strategies, and learning activities;
- Support curriculum modifications as needed;
- Create data management techniques to collect and analyze data for the purpose of tracking academic progress;
- Serve as student special education liaison, participate in meetings, prepare Progress Reports and complete required IEP paperwork according to mandated procedures and timelines;
- Provide support to students in a Learning Support Center to work on IEP goals and support student learning;
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment;
- Participate in curriculum and other developmental opportunities, including PLCs and department meetings;
- Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activities.
